Un-natural selection
Etching, 58x48cm (framed) 42x29cm (unframed)
‘Un-natural selection’ discusses the concepts of ‘ancestry’ and ‘evolution’. It addresses the need to distance ourselves from a natural heritage through cultural constructs and the subsequent break down of natural selection through ‘our’ manipulation, whereby the prosperity of a species is now dependent upon its relevance to ‘our’ needs.
